- Gain experience overseas through a study abroad experience with Mason’s Global Education Office. Complete an internship if you can to get exposure to a professional business environment in a different country.
- Join a student organization with either a cultural or international focus.
- Learn the language used where you want to work after graduation. Take classes through the Modern and Classical Languages department or use Rosetta Stone to develop your language skills.
- Participate in Office of International Programs and Services (OIPS) events to connect with people from different cultures.
- Check Handshake to learn about organizations that have a presence overseas.

- Communicate your interest in working abroad with any of your personal, academic, and professional contacts, particularly those who have worked or lived abroad or who have connections to people in different countries.
- Use LinkedIn and other social media platforms to make career connections with Mason alumni and professionals in your field working abroad.
- Broaden your contacts further by joining a professional association for your field and target country, and check out embassy-related networking events.
