Career Influencers Network

The Career Influencers Network is made of more than 475 Mason faculty and staff committed to preparing career-ready graduates.

The Mason Career Influencers Network is a nationally recognized model for providing career development support to students through their relationships with professors, advisors, success coaches, supervisors, community directors, and many other roles at the university.

 

Career Influencers contribute critical career readiness guidance and feedback to Mason students.

To join, complete our interactive, 4.5-hour training, which includes 3 modules focused on: 

  1. Defining career readiness.
  2. Understanding how employers recruit Mason students in all degree programs.
  3. Supporting students at various stages in their career development.

After Program Completion

Influencers can confidently:

  • Support students seeking career path and job-search advice.
  • Describe and share the career development process with students.
  • Refer students to University Career Services for career counseling and industry-specific advising.
  • Support employer recruitment efforts in compliance with Mason policies and NACE ethical standards.
  • Promote Handshake and other career resources available to Mason students.

Get Ongoing Support

Network members get support from University Career Services throughout the year:

  • Three “Just for Influencers” workshops each term to share news on topics, resources, and trends.
  • Monthly updates on career-related events, programs, and services for students.
  • Tools to promote the Career Plans Survey to graduating students to gather useful departmental data.
